fall runway fashion trends 2012

hello everybody! :) so i thought i'd blog about some fall runway trends from the fall/winter shows since october has begun, and all of you are probably stoked for fall weather and fashion! so without further ado, here are my favourite styles off of the fall runway!

1). Oversized Trench Coats

emilio pucci

commes de garcons

diane von furstenburg

i think this trend is awesome because it's almost defying all the "rules". in past fashion history, big long bulky coats were a no go. these designers kind of went into uncharted territory with these coats, and made it work! the cape-like design paired with the fitted clothing underneath makes the fashion trend a must-try!

2). Brocade

let me just start out by saying that this trend is my absolute favourite from the fall runway! these jeweled toned and metallic embroidered pieces are fantastic. although they all have a dear place in my heart, my favourite has to be the marchesa gold dress. the colour is beautiful, the print is classic, but new, and the pleats around the bottom are perfect. one of my very favorite fall runway pieces. nicely done, marchesa!

3). Printed Suits

there's no way not to love this style. when suits started coming in style for women, i have to admit, i was a little precarious about it. however, these printed beauties totally changed my mind. prada's gorgeously designed print paired with the tapered jacket and cropped pants make this look high fashion, yet feminine and wearable. i'm also loving the bedazzled jewel look louis vuitton put out there.

4). Peplum

the peplum, as my grandma would stay, was stolen from the 20's! however old this look my be, i think the designers maintained that balance of keeping it old school and classic, while also putting their uniqueness into it. i also love how to styles can go from skirt suits, to jackets, to evening dresses. this trend can be applied to nearly any garment. the versatile nature of peplums, and the unique, but timeless  approach makes this fall trend an incredible addition to the world of fashion this season.
